Bachelor of Actuarial Science (Honours)

Undertaking the Bachelor of Actuarial Science (Honours) allows students with an Actuarial Science degree to further develop their technical skills and learn how they can be best used within a broader business and economic setting. You will also have the opportunity to complete all the Part II (Actuary program) subjects and receive a qualification with the Actuaries Institute and designation of Actuary. Part II (Actuary program) accreditation requires the completion of two subjects which are delivered by the Actuaries Institute in an online environment. It is a requirement to complete Honours (Part II) if you wish to become a Fellow.

The Bachelor of Actuarial Science (Honours) is an innovative and immersive program that combines elements of economics, finance, statistics, data analytics and advanced mathematics to develop techniques for the management of risk and business decision making. An integral part of the Honours degree is the development of research skills and actuarial judgement through the Actuarial Control Cycle subjects and the Actuarial Research Thesis subject. The program develops skills in the challenge of crunching the ‘big data’ numbers to create practical solutions for real-world problems.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
PhD students can stay upto 4 years
