Master of Music (Music Education)
The Sydney Conservatorium of Music places a high emphasis on its research activity, with a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. The Master of Music (Music Education) facilitates students’ development of knowledge and research skills relating to the discipline of Music Education. This degree promotes the scholarly interrogation of teaching and learning in a variety of contexts and culminates in the completion of a thesis.
The program includes two streams of study. The first stream of study consists of two seminars selected from a range of fields relevant to music teaching and learning. The concurrently running research stream provides instruction in research methodology which underpins the supervised preparation of a thesis. The thesis of 25,000 to 40,000 words is the major component of the degree.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to the Master of Music (Music Education) you must have completed the equivalent of a bachelor's degree in music with a major in music education. In exceptional circumstances the Dean or Associate Dean may admit an applicant who does not meet this requirement provided that the applicant has exceptional qualifications and presents evidence of having the aptitude required for undertaking the course. These criteria constitute the minimum requirements for eligibility and do not guarantee admission. That remains at the discretion of the relevant supervisors and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and access to supervision remains highly competitive. The University must certify that there are sufficient supervisory and other resources and facilities available to enable your candidature to be completed successfully.
TOEFL - IBT score - A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 23 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 25 in Writing
IELTS score - A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 7.0 in each band
TOEFL - PBT score - A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
Pearsons Test of English - A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
