Bachelor of Media (Screen and Sound Production)
This degree teaches fundamental skills in video and sound production, screenwriting, animation and game design.
Emphasising both theoretical and practical studies, it gives you foundational knowledge in film and media history and theory, as well as applied skills in video and sound production.
Core courses combine with electives in film studies, media, sound and production to complement opportunities for practical application, where you will have access to advanced multimedia labs, digital video production, post-production facilities, animation and audio studios.
UNSW is the only university in the Sydney metropolitan area to offer a comprehensive suite of film-studies courses within a Bachelor of Media program that also provides conceptual and practical production skills.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Specific entry requirements of INDIA
Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
Awarded by CBSE, overall grade in best four externally examined subjects where A1=5, A2=4.5, B1=3.5, B2=3, C1=2, C2=1.5, D1=1, D2=0.5. Students also need to provide CBSE Admit Card.
Indian School Certificate
Awarded by ICSE, overall average from English and the best three externally examined subjects.
Indian State Boards (Indian Higher Secondary School Certificate)
Average of English and the 3 best subjects in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) in the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka. India HSSC issued by other states are not accepted.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or Bilingual Diploma
Entry criteria is based on scores required for entry into UNSW in 2021 and are only applicable if the Diploma has been completed. Students currently attempting the IB Diploma or Bilingual Diploma can apply directly to UNSW or through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)
