This course is designed to channel your passion and experience of working and volunteering in the community. Working with Communities SCQF Level 6 will give you an industry-recognized qualification in community learning development and will improve both your professional and academic skills.
During this course, you will study a range of subjects as well as complete a work placement. Edinburgh College has exceptional industry connections that can help you in securing a job in this rewarding industry. Upon completion of this course, you can progress into a variety of different community-related jobs or onto further study at Edinburgh College at HNC level.
Campus Information
Sighthill Campus
Our Sighthill campus is located in the West of Edinburgh. Sighthill celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2015 and has been continually improved over that time to provide a range of excellent facilities for students. As well as being an excellent centre for learning, the campus also boasts a centre for sport and exercise which, as well as providing an outstanding training facility for students, is available for staff and students to use. There's a range of clubs you can join, from running to rugby, or you can jump at the chance to form your own. There are a library and learning centre, which can be used in class groups or on your own and we offer additional support to those who need it. The Music Box is the college's state-of-the-art music centre. Acoustically tuned and kitted out to industry-standard specifications, the centre offers excellent practice, recording and performance facilities to musicians and performers, and is also available to hire for members of the public. Students and staff can relax between classes in the Atrium and enjoy a coffee, or grab some lunch in the refectory, where a range of hot and cold food and drinks are available.
