Software Development and Digital Design NPA
Discover the world of software development as you are introduced to core industry concepts and skills. This course is designed to be used as a progression towards further study of a specialist software development course and entry into the innovative digital design sector. Upon completion, you will gain an up-to-date award that reflects recent developments within the job market. You will explore practical and hands-on subjects taught at Edinburgh College’s state-of-the-art computer labs.
You will be taught by industry-experienced College lecturers and learn a diverse range of knowledge in; computer programming for apps, web development HTML and CSS, and media production such as graphics and video. Each subject area you cover is tailored towards jobs available in the industry to make sure you get the best education to progress towards a successful career.
Campus Information
Granton Campus
Based in the North of Edinburgh, our Granton Campus is a modern, practical, accessible building, packed with state of the art facilities. Our ‘Learning Street’ corridors have study spaces and computers as well as an on-site library and resource centre so that our students always have plenty of places to work in groups or individually. The teaching spaces are equipped with data projectors and interactive whiteboards, bringing the most up-to-date technology into the classroom. The campus has fully equipped sports halls, as well as specially equipped spacious art studios, complete with the latest tools and materials to produce a wide range of creative work. Included in our range of excellent learning facilities at Granton Campus is Edinburgh College's Construction Centre for Excellence, based at the Forthside building on West Shore Road. We offer a wide range of modern and traditional construction courses – from glazing, carpentry and stone masonry to conservation and heritage construction skills. Granton also plays host to PASS - one of Scotland’s largest training providers in the performing arts, where many young actors, including Karen Gillan, have studied. The main student social area is known as the ‘Hub’ and is surrounded by a range of college facilities, including student services, the student union and one of our Hair and Beauty Training Salons. There are several places to eat too – as well as the College’s own training restaurant, The Apprentice.?
