Foundation in Computing

As the European home of IBM, the city of Portsmouth is recognised as a centre for computer related and IT business. As a result, the University's academic staff maintains close links with the world of work, both locally and further afield. The aim is to provide University of Portsmouth graduates, who come from all parts of the world, with the skills and knowledge that will make them valuable contributors to the information industry. The School's environment helps to produce confident and highly employable graduates. As well as the University's commitment to curriculum development, many of the courses are accredited by the British Computing Society (BCS).

• Many of the degrees that this pathway leads to are accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) and carries exemptions from the professional examinations for Chartered Engineer and Chartered Scientist for those who complete all three years of their course in Portsmouth.
