This highly practical and intensive 1-year postgraduate program offers training that will develop professional artists’ of the future. The programme not only concentrates on acting, singing and dancing; but also gives students the opportunities to develop Directing skills and Physical Theatre training. The degree can be tailored to the specific student and gives the opportunity to develop as a unique artist. All of our teaching staff are theatre professionals that work in higher education as well as the industry.

The Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV), based in the vibrant city of Cardiff, provides a world-class conservatoire of voice within one of the UK’s leading centres of higher education and an opportunity to lead in a field in which Wales is historically preeminent and globally admired. In 2015 Canolfan Berfformio Cymru (CBC) was established offering performance study through the medium of Welsh. CBC now also offers English-medium programmes.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Academic Qualifications

A minimum of a 2:2 UK first degree or an equivalent international qualification recognised by UK NARIC
English Qualifications

An overall English Language level equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no lower than 5.5 in reading writing, listening and speaking
or

Successfully completed within the last two years a recognised undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at a recognised institution that has been certified as being taught in the medium of English (certificates, transcripts and/or other documents stating language of delivery and assessment may be required by the University prior to an offer being made).
