Jewellery & Silversmithing BA (Hons)
Our BA (Hons) Jewellery & Silversmithing course is based on the traditions of craftsmanship, combined with a forward-thinking approach to designing and making.
You’re encouraged to explore diverse approaches to jewellery and silversmithing and are provided with the specialist technical and creative skills required to develop, design and realise your ideas.
We provide a stimulating creative environment where physical making and material investigation are at the core of what you’ll be doing, learning established hand skills and acknowledging the possibilities offered by digital making. You’ll have access to excellent workshops giving you the opportunity to work with a range of materials including metal, ceramics, glass, wood, plastics and textiles.
Our team of lecturers, who are practicing designers, makers or researchers, ensure what you're learning on the course is current and relevant to industry. UCA’s craft expertise and legacy is well respected within the industry.
You’ll gain invaluable experience by taking part in competitions and live projects and talented students have achieved outstanding success over the years, winning awards such as the Goldsmith's Company Precious Metal Bursary, the Guild of Enamellers' Bursary Award, Young Artist of the Year, British Art Medal Student Project Awards and New Designer of the Year.
