Graphic Design BA (Hons)
Study graphic design in its broadest global context, take a versatile approach and become a skilled visual storyteller on our in-depth and multi-disciplinary BA (Hons) Graphic Design course at UCA Canterbury.
Using our dedicated studio spaces and benefiting from our strong industry links, you’ll begin to evolve your own style and voice as a graphic designer, undertaking live projects and collaborating on a diverse range of assignments alongside fellow academics and students on the BA (Hons) Illustration & Animation course.
Supported through an exciting programme of workshops, including typography, printmaking, photography, darkroom processes, 3D, letterpress and motion design, you’ll discover a range of digital and analogue making skills relating to contemporary practice, alongside dedicated software training.
While studying and learning advanced techniques in graphics design using top-of-the-range software, you will also learn valuable business insight into the creative industries.
Our aim at UCA is to launch you into the world of work as a fully rounded, capable graphic designer with a strong understanding of the underlying theory and history. This is reflected in our 80% practical, 20% theory curriculum.
Tutored by a team of experienced professional designers with connections at the highest levels of the industry, our graduates have gone on to work in a multitude of different roles, including graphic and packaging designers, art directors, picture editors, information designers and screen-based designers.

Farnham was recently given World Craft Town status and is a national hub for makers - which makes it the ideal place to pursue your creative passions. Located on the edge of the town centre, UCA Farnham is packed with all the specialist facilities you'll need to make incredible things - from ceramics and metalwork to films and animations.
