The Bachelor of Advanced Computing is accredited by the Australian Computer Society and designed to foster your ability to work across the computing, information technology, and business innovation industries.
First-year covers the core skills you will need to become a computing professional before you specialize in a major that aligns with your preferred career pathway computer science, information systems, software development, or computational data science.
Complementing your computing studies, the Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) provides an essential foundation in the structure and function of the human body, from molecules through to whole systems.
Core units in the Medical Science major will ensure you develop a breadth of knowledge across fields such as anatomy, cellular and molecular biochemistry, human physiology, immunobiology, infectious diseases, pharmacology, and microbiology, and you will have the opportunity to specialize in your senior units.
You can complete this combined degree program in five years of full-time study, after which you will graduate with two qualifications. Course opportunities
Business internship for high-achieving students
High-achieving students have the option to undertake an assessable work placement in Australia or overseas, worth six credit points. Places in these units will be offered on a competitive basis and are subject to availability.
Business dissertation for high-achieving students
Students who achieve a weighted average mark (WAM) of 80 percent or higher in at least eight units of study (48 credit points) may apply to complete a 24 credit point research module comprising a supervised research dissertation of 15,000 to 20,000 words. Access to the business dissertation units is subject to an interview and the availability of suitable supervisors.
Career pathways
Sydney Master of Commerce graduates will acquire the skills and knowledge to pursue high-level positions in industry or government, in areas relevant to their specialisations. For example, the degree can prepare you for positions in accounting, marketing or other specialist fields. It also gives you a thorough understanding of commerce for use in many business fields.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.
- This course has a Mathematics prerequisite.
- You are expected to have studied the following subjects in high school to succeed in this course:
- Mathematics Extension 1
- Chemistry
- Biology and / or Physics
English Language Requirements :
- IELTS score A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
- TOEFL - IBT score A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
- Pearsons Test of English A minimum result of 61 overall and a minimum result of 54 in each band
