Master of Computing
The Master of Computing allows you to develop the skills to undertake systematic research and solve complex applied computing problems. This programme focuses on fast developing areas of computing including networks and security, internet and intranets, interactive multimedia, data mining, adaptive business intelligence, and health informatics. Key learning objectives include designing, planning and organising technology based projects that are produced on time, to high standards, and within budget. You’ll develop your analytical, research, strategic planning, project management and interpersonal skills in undertaking this programme.

PSW Opportunity
- During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
- After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
- After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
You must have completed at least one of the following:
- A recognised bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant discipline with merit achievement deemed to be a grade average of B- or higher; or
- A professional qualification in a relevant discipline recognised as being equivalent to merit achievement in a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
And English entry requirements;
If English is not your first language, you will also need at least one of the following qualifications:
- Evidence of an IELTS (Academic) band score of at least 6.5 with no band score lower than 6
- University Entrance Literacy: 8 credits at Level 2 or above in English or M?ori (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing); or
- Evidence of English language proficiency as outlined in the NZQA Rules on the Unitec English Language Requirements for International Students.
