Career planning and course advice is offered to prospective students and members of the public who are considering their future study and employment options. The Career Centre is located in the Information Centre ( J Block) which is situated at the front of the Taradale campus. To help you get started in understanding career opportunities an excellent resource is Career Services rapuara, this has extensive information relating to 700+ careers including entry requirements, personal profiles, market information plus tools to assist in identifying career opportunities that reflect your interests and skills.

• During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
• After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
• After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.

A personal interview may be part of the application process.

Academic Entry Requirement

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

Master of Digital Business (240)

• An NZQF listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of a pass (as per the EIT 11 point grading system specified in the ARF), OR
• At the Dean’s discretion, where an applicant’s situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above.

Master of Digital Business (180)

• A NZQF listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in the Computing, Information Technology, Business or Management field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average (as per the EIT 11 point grading system specified in the ARF), OR
• A bachelor honours or postgraduate degree in the Computing, Information Technology, Business or Management field with 120 credits at Level 8, OR
• A degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average (as per the EIT 11 point grading system specified in the ARF) and evidence of relevant experience in the Computing, Information Technology, Business or Management field at degree level, subject to assessment from the Programme Coordinator, OR
• At the Dean’s discretion, where an applicant’s situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above.

A Master of Digital Business applicant who does not meet the entry criteria above may be admitted to the Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Business and, upon successful completion of four courses (with a minimum B average) from the schedule of courses may be admitted to the Master of Digital Business.

Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Business

• A NZQF listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Computing, Information Technology, Business or Management, OR
• An undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of the equivalent to a B average (as per the EIT 11 point grading system specified in the ARF), subject to assessment by the Programme Coordinator, OR
• At the Dean’s discretion, where an applicant’s situation is compelling but not covered by the requirements listed above.

English Language Entry Requirements

All applicants must demonstrate an acceptable level of English Language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. English Language fluency can be verified by achievement of one of the following within the last two years:

• New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 5 (Academic)
• IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.0
• PTE (Academic) score of 58 with no band score lower than 50
• International equivalents to IELTS accepted by NZQA or successful study of a programme in which English was the language of instruction (conditions apply)
