The Bachelor of Construction will prepare you for a career at any level in the construction industry.
You will learn about and get practical experience in construction practices and technology, building services, health and safety management, construction methodologies and more.
Tailor your degree to your career goals by choosing one of three specialisations Construction Management, Project Management or Quantity Surveying.

- Financial management of construction projects
- Design, evaluate and apply health and safety management systems
- Evaluate, advise on and manage risks associated with construction projects

Job Opportunity Potential
Possible employers in the public sector include government departments, local authorities, and educational institutions.
Possible employers in the private sector include construction companies, consultancies, and infrastructure service companies. Graduates may also work in private practice.
After graduation (and further work experience in some cases) possible jobs include Building Estimator, Building Inspector, Construction Economist, Construction Manager, Contract Manager, Project Manager, Property Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Site Manager and Team Leader.
PSW Opportunity
Level 7 (Bachelor’s degree)
- Duration: Equal to length of study (typically up to 3 years)
- Requirement: minimum 30 weeks full time study in NZ
Level 7 (Graduate Diploma)

- Must also hold a Bachelor’s degree (NZ or overseas)

Level 8 (Postgraduate Diploma)
- Duration: Equal to length of study, OR
- Up to 3 years in some cases (if part of higher qualification pathway)
Level 9 and 10 (Master’s degree and Doctoral degree)
- Duration: 3 years
- Condition: Must study at least 30 weeks in New Zealand
- Most eligible international students can work up to 25 hours per week during study and full-time during scheduled breaks, only if their student visa includes work rights.

IELTS test - Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5
TOEFL Paper based test (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score 5 TWE)
TOEFL Internet based test (iBT) - Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18)
Cambridge English Examination - B2 First or B2 First for schools or C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill.
OET - Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests

Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
