New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Quantity Surveying) (Level 6)

Through the NZ Diploma in Construction program, you’ll learn about construction principles and methods, building legislation, conflict management, contract conditions and administration, environmental sustainability and how to quantify and estimate material and labour costs. 

This two-year qualification will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills to work with limited supervision as a Quantity Surveyor.

  • Communicate in a construction-related context
  • Select materials and finishes for building projects, 
  • Administer construction contracts 
  • Present feasibility information and preliminary estimates to clients
  • Assemble quantity surveying documentation 
  • Collate all priced components into tender submission.

PSW Opportunity

  • During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
  • After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
  • After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

India 60% average across 4 academic subjects (excluding Hindi or local language). English mark should be a minimum of 60%
 
75% average across 4 academic subjects (excluding Hindi or local language). 
  • IELTS test - Academic score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5
    TOEFL Paper based test (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score 5 TWE)
    TOEFL Internet based test (iBT) - Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18)
    Cambridge English Examination - B2 First or B2 First for schools or C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill.
    OET - Minimum of Grade C or 200 in all sub-tests

    Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
