The 22 to 24-months planned program will consist of the below listed phases, in the following order:

  1. Ground School – 14 ATPL Subjects;
  2. Core Flying – 70 hours on a single engine aircraft;
  3. Basic Flying – Transition to Multi-Crew Cooperation;
  4. Intermediate Flying – Transition to Airbus A320 type of Aircraft;
  5. Advanced Flying – Hours on Airbus A320 simulator;
  6. Base Training  – Several Take-offs and Landings on Airbus A320 Aircraft;
  7. Line Training  – Initial On-line Experience of 1,500 flying hours on Airbus A320 with Air Arabia Airlines
                                 in order to obtain their
    ATPL Commercial Licence.

Ground School Phase
The ground school training follows the UAE GCAA (General Civil Aviation Authority) ATPL syllabus, which is similar to the (European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) ATPL syllabus. We divide the subjects into three modules, during which cadets will be taught the theoretical knowledge required for the MPL.

The training programme features a mix of classroom lessons and Computer Based Training (CBT). The programme also contains continuous progress testing to ensure you have achieved a thorough understanding of each subject before you move on to the next level. You will need to demonstrate that you have the necessary knowledge level, equivalent to that required for the issue of an Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) Level. Examinations are held at the Academy, at the end of each Module.

Core Flying Phase
At the Core Flying stage, we take our cadets airborne to make their first flying hours. Instructed by experienced instructors with various backgrounds a cadet flies a minimum of 70 hours on a single engine Cessna 172 equipped with Garmin 1000 avionics. During this phase a cadet will also fly a number of solo hours, there is navigation and night flying involved plus an introduction to instrument flying. The training is conducted at a GCAA approved Aviation Training Organisation contracted by Alpha Aviation Academy.

Basic Flying Phase

Basic Flying Phase is completed in a fixed base twin-engine jet flight simulator. An important part of the foundation on which to build a successful professional pilot career is being created in this phase. Instrument flying skills, flying on a multi-engine jet and working in a multi-crew environment will be developed to the required level. The phase starts with classroom instruction of crew resource management, standard operating procedures and additional threat and error management theory. All instruction is conducted by very experienced instructors, with worldwide multi-crew military and airline experience on modern business- and airline jet aircrafts.

Intermediate Flying Phase

Prior to the simulator instruction you will complete the ground school for the Airbus A320 type conversion program using Computer Based Training (CBT), and training on the Airbus A320’s TST (Touch Screen Trainer).

This phase of the training introduces Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT), which simulates normal and abnormal airline line operations in the Airbus A320 level D full flight simulator.

Advanced Flying Phase
The flight simulation module comprises sessions in the Airbus A320 Level D full flight simulator. The simulator cockpit is identical to that of an Airbus A320 aircraft and features the most advanced visual systems available. The simulator sessions allow you to experience and practice a full range of emergency situations and weather phenomena in a safe training environment.

Base Training Phase

The final stage of training is completed with a series of take-off s and landings in the actual Airbus A320 aircraft under the supervision of instructors.

Line Training Phase
Line training program helps you increase the amount of hours flown and gain experience in actual aircraft. In cooperation with Air Arabia, we are conducting a Line Training Program of 1,500 flying hours in an A320 aircraft.
