This programme is a great opportunity for educators, policy makers and those in related fields to complete a postgraduate qualification that can be designed to suit a specific field of interest, and fitted around work commitments.
Design your study to suit your career goals and commitments. Choose from a range of courses covering subjects such as multicultural and international education, educational policy and leadership, youth development, and M?ori, Pacific and indigenous education. Or you might explore the issues around sustainability and the environment in education, learn about evaluation and assessment, or develop your skills in teaching ESOL. We have grouped courses into study themes to help you choose.
You can complete the Master of Education either by coursework or by a combination of coursework and a thesis or dissertation.
Or you can complete the coursework-based Postgraduate Certificate in Education or Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
If you are planning on doing a dissertation or thesis course, you'll need to achieve an average grade of B or above for all your other postgraduate courses and a B+ or better in EDUC 503.

PSW Opportunity
- During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
- After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
- After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
For entry into a programme at postgraduate level (including a graduate diploma, Honour’s degree, postgraduate diploma, or Master’s degree), as a minimum, you need the equivalent of a Bachelor’s (undergraduate) degree from a recognised institution with at least a B average.
A background in a particular subject area may be required or recommended. Entry is at the programme director’s discretion.

A score of 90 on the internet-based test with at least 20 in writing

A score of 58 with a ‘Communicative’ score of not less than 50
