LLB European Law and Politics

Overview
The first stage of legal training

Our LLB European Law and Politics gives you the initial academic skills to pursue qualified solicitor or barrister status in England and Wales.

Our law and politics course gives you the first stage of professional legal training, and is recognised by both the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board.

You’ll study the core principals that form the law in England and Wales as you develop your knowledge of European law and politics – and the complexities this can present.

You’ll also put theory into practice with a variety of work-based modules. Here, you’ll learn to analyse and evaluate a variety of legal systems as you develop the hands-on skills and expertise to progress in both the legal profession and the wider commercial field.

Tailored study to develop your legal skills
Optional modules let you tailor your studies to suit both your interests and professional ambitions. You'll be able to choose from Advanced Mooting and Advocacy, Integrated Learning and Work Placement, and a project-based module.

Work-based and skills-based modules give you the opportunity to develop your practical and professional skills.

Our course is taught across three international campuses – which means you’ll have the option to transfer to one of our overseas campuses in Mauritius or Dubai for a year (or more) of your studies.

You'll be matched with professional legal bodies and practitioners who'll help you develop specialist mooting and mediation skills. You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in national and international mooting and mediation competitions.

Get the support you need to succeed
You also get the support you need to succeed. From your Personal Tutor to your Graduate Academic Assistant, each one has studied your subject and will provide the support you need based on their own experience. If you need a little help with writing, numeracy or library skills, we can help with that too.

Aside from being a route to pursuing a career within the legal profession, law and politics courses open up career opportunities with international political organisations, charities, NGOs and trade and regulatory bodies.
