Law (Criminal Justice) LLM

As part of Northumbria University's innovative and flexible LLM Law framework, the Criminal Justice branch specialism has been designed to meet the needs of legal practitioners, policy makers and other professionals working in the field of criminal justice. It is also suitable for those who wish to engage in more detailed, academic study of criminal justice issues than they have previously. You will be provided with a deeper, contextual understanding of the law and policy issues affecting professional practice.

You will be taught by academics with world leading expertise and they will provide you with a critical understanding of contemporary issues in the field of criminal justice. You will be provided with an introduction to criminal justice and forensics. You will explore themes around the theory and practice of punishment especially youth justice, transnational criminal law, and comparative approaches to the law of evidence.

By engaging in the LLM Law (Criminal Justice) specialist area of contemporary and innovative legal study, within an established postgraduate legal qualification, you are provided with a remarkable opportunity to gain career enhancing knowledge and skills.
