CYBER SECURITY MSc

Cyber security is now recognised as one of the top global risks, with hacking, malicious code and data theft among some of the reasons why it is vital in the design, development, and implementation of IT systems. This is particularly important as internet users increase exponentially in emerging economies, more data is created and collected than ever before, and businesses find themselves increasingly reliant on online services, and in need of a strong cyber security culture.  

  • This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec). The course is classed as industry standard and will give you several opportunities to enhance your experience as a cyber security student

Successful completion of this degree can therefore lead to prestigious roles in the IT security arena, including Chief Information Officer, System Penetration Tester, Information Security Consultant and Information Security Risk Assessor.

Alternatively, you could undertake further research leading to a PhD or gain employment in a research and development environment.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Bachelors degrees from institutions recognised by NARIC or government recognised institutions
Requirements will vary depending on recognition of institution and scoring system used. Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis
A score of 60% is considered comparable to a UK 2:1; a score of 50% is considered comparable to a UK 2:2 plus work experience
 
For most of our programmes at bachelors degree level and above, you will normally need an IELTS score of between 6.0 and 7.0 with a pre-requisite minimum score in all areas. (speaking, reading, writing and listening). We will accept one of the alternative equivalent qualifications below:
 
Oxford English Language Level Test (ELLT)
Pearson Test of Academic English
TOEFL iBT Overall score of 79 - 100 (with specific minimum score requirements for each component)
LanguageCert International ESOL SELT B2 – C1
Michigan English Assessment Battery (MELAB)
Michigan Test: Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE)
Cambridge English Scale: B2 – C1
International GCE O Level English Language: Grade C
International GCSE English or English as a Second Language: Grade C
