Biological Sciences (Common Entry) Bachelor of Science (Honours)
The Common Biological Sciences programme is a twoyear course designed for students interested in Biological Sciences as a career, but who may be unsure of which discipline to follow. The scheme gives students the opportunity to see the three disciplines, first hand, through the various modules on offer, interaction with lecturers, and industrial site visits. This allows the student to make an informed decision on their discipline of study.
On successfully completing this 2-year programme, students can enter the third year programme from any of the following Honours Biological Science Degrees:
CR 370 BSc (Honours) in Agri-Biosciences
CR 333 BSc (Honours) in Nutrition and Health Science
CR 325 BSc (Honours) in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
Agri-Biosciences
Graduates will be able to apply knowledge of the role of biotechnology in agri-food and animal sciences to support and develop technologies (e.g. health, reproduction and diagnostics) for the improvement of global agri-food production systems.
Nutrition and Health
Graduates will be able to apply their understanding of human nutrition and its role in health and disease to various sectors of the food and health industry, and identify and address nutrition-related problems in individuals and populations.
Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
Graduates will be able to grow and engineer biological cells in order to make safe and effective medicines using the most up-to-date information and technologies available.

WHO WE WORK WITH
The Careers Service actively engages with MTU students, employers and staff.
We predominantly work with full-time students across all courses and graduates for one year after completing their qualification.
We also provide Careers Service supports to Apprentices, Springboard+, Human Capital Initiative and Jobs Stimulus course participants, and part-time students (with the exception of Special Purpose Awards, single subject certificate and professional course participants).

All applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of English language proficiency. English language tests must be undertaken no more than two years prior to the start of a programme.
