English Literature with Creative Writing, BA Hons

Our English Literature with Creative Writing degree hones your skills in literary analysis while helping you to develop your own creative voice.

 This English Literature with Creative Writing BA allows you to combine the two disciplines on a major/minor basis. In English Literature classes we cover fiction, poetry, drama and film with an emphasis on the period since 1800. In Creative Writing modules you'll be given the chance to produce your own work in these same genres. Over your time with us you'll be able to develop and explore your own areas of interest. You will also have the opportunity to undertake a work placement or dissertation.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

For entry to our four-year extended degree programmes, you will need to have met the following:

  • Standard XII with a minimum of 50%
  • 70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements

For standard entry to our Bachelor's programmes, you will need to have met the following:

  • Standard XII with a minimum of 60%(70% for Law, Architecture)
  • 70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements
  • Some Bachelor's degrees allow advanced entry to year 2 or year 3, depending on your study history.

For advanced entry to Year 2 and Year 3 you will need to complete:

  • Year 1 of a relevant degree with a minimum of 60%
  • Postgraduate Degrees (Masters)
