Creative Writing, BA Hons

This creative writing degree uses the study of great writing from different periods and cultures to help you grow as a writer.

Our degree in creative writing explores the written word across a wide variety of forms and genres. As well as studying fiction and poetry, you'll produce work for stage and screen and for online media.

With option modules, you can expand your studies to include a foreign language or specialise in particular fields of writing, such as journalism. By the end of the course, you should have your own writing style and creative process and have the ability to critically analyse the writing of others.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

For entry to our four-year extended degree programmes, you will need to have met the following:

Standard XII with a minimum of 50%
70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements

For standard entry to our Bachelor's programmes, you will need to have met the following:

Standard XII with a minimum of 60%(70% for Law, Architecture)
70% in English in Standard XII or English language requirements
Some Bachelor's degrees allow advanced entry to year 2 or year 3, depending on your study history.

For advanced entry to Year 2 and Year 3 you will need to complete:

Year 1 of a relevant degree with a minimum of 60%
Postgraduate Degrees (Masters)
