Program Overview

Consumer awareness of production safety and quality is at an all-time high, triggered by repeated recalls, social media campaigns and increased media access. As a result, successful quality control and quality assurance programs are essential for an organization to survive. Graduates of the Pharmaceutical and Food Science program are uniquely suited to work in these high-demand areas in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, natural health product and cannabis industries. Our courses are rooted in real-world applications and our extensive analytical instrumentation lab provides practical, hands-on training on the instrumentation used routinely for the quality control and safety testing of products in these industries. Learning on industry-grade equipment, students graduate with a broad base of theoretical knowledge and practical skills to draw from in their future careers.

Program Details
This program is unique in Ontario: our well-equipped microbiology, chemical analysis, pharmaceutical and food processing facilities provide our students with hands-on experience in the methods and instrumentation used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, natural health product, cannabis and food science industries.  Our students learn the theory of and perform experiments mirroring industry procedures and protocols to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to work in these high-demand industries.
