Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Leuven)

In essence, engineers find intelligent solutions to technological problems. Engineers at KU Leuven, however, are more than technology experts. They have distinct entrepreneurial skills and are capable of coaching both themselves and others. Our engineers are aware of their place in the world and the impact they have on nature and culture. Finally, they are big-picture thinkers with the ability to see complex problems from a systemic, integrated perspective.

KU Leuven engineers focus on the 5 E’s: engineering, enterprising, educating, environmenting and ensembling. 5E engineering cannot be learned from a book or through individual work. 5E engineering is a matter of developing and fine-tuning an ensemble of qualities over the entire course of your studies and career. Collaboration, cross-professional experience, diversity and a plurality of world visions are crucial to the 5E engineering vision.

This extraordinary vision requires an extraordinary programme. The principles underlying the engineering curriculum at Campus Group T Leuven create a learning and working environment that encourages on-going personal and professional development.

International Campus Group T

The Faculty of Engineering Technology maintains close ties with universities around the world. At Campus Group T, more than 20% of the engineering students are international students. They represent 65 different nationalities from all over the world. This international network extends not just to Europe, but also to China, Southeast Asia, India, Ethiopia and beyond.

Campus Group T is the only campus of the faculty that offers all the degree programmes in the business language par excellence: English. The language is ubiquitous both inside and outside the classroom. If you've mastered English, you feel right at home. And if you want to explore more of the world, you can do part of your training at a university outside Belgium as an exchange student.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

In addition these applicants are required 1. to prove their proficiency in mathematics by submitting a SAT test result with a minimum score of 700 on the mathematics section. Note that the test required is the mathematics subject test, not the general test. Alternatively, ACT test results may be submitted with a minimum score of 30 for the mathematics test. Minimum SAT or ACT test results are not an immediate guarantee for admission, however. Your application file including your previous education qualifications will be evaluated as a whole. Applicants who obtain a score between 650 and 700 for SAT or between 30 and 28 for ACT can still be considered eligible after a favourable decision taken by the Admissions Committee of the faculty on the basis of an evaluation of the entire application file and previous education qualifications of the applicant. Applicants are responsible to timely make an appointment for one of both tests themselves. Test results are valid for maximum 5 years. 2. to meet the English language proficiency requirements (cf. supra). D. Applicants who have been awarded the General Certificate of Education (GCE) can be eligible for admission if they can prove to have passed at least three A-Level subjects. Of these A-Level subjects, at least two have to be relevant (e.g. mathematics is a must with an additional scientific course such as biology, physics and chemistry). The third subject is preferably also another scientific course as mentioned above, but can be something unrelated to science as well if the grades are satisfactory. A minimum grade of ‘B’ is required for each of the three subjects. Applicants with a grade ‘C’ can still be considered eligible after a favourable decision taken by the Admissions Committee of the faculty on the basis of an evaluation of the entire application file and previous education qualifications of the applicant. If the GCE A-Level certificates have been obtained in a country that is not part of the European Union, candidates are required to submit an additional proof of proficiency in mathematics (SAT/ACT, cf. supra). All applicant also need to meet the English language proficiency requirements (cf. supra).
