Master in Business Economics (International Business)

The completion of a graduate study program leads to the academic title: Master of Business Economics.

Study program requirements and learning outcomes:

Teaching is conducted in accordance with the study curricula, which encompass a great number of elective courses. This enables student flexibility in shaping the study content according to their abilities and interests. In addition to regular academic contents, our programs develop students’ connectivity and understanding of global experiences.

Students studying and completing a university graduate study program offered by the Faculty of Economics and Business in Rijeka acquire competencies and skills important and needed in their future career as MAs in Economics. These include competencies in analysis, synthesis and complex problem solving in issues related to economics and business economics; development of critical thinking, possibility of self and associative learning, flexibility and adaptability, capability to apply research methods and procedures to creative problem solving in institutions and enterprises, their organization and management as well as the ability to perform highly qualified jobs in the field of economics, i.e. the development and implementation of expertise and achievement into practice.

Access to further levels of study:

After completing the graduate university programme in Business Economics, a student may continue his/her studies at postgraduate university programmes and specialist programmes. The study programme is developed on a comparative analysis of other European study programmes in Business Economics and therefore enables student mobility and enrolment in other study programmes.

Professional status:

In accordance with the fundamental goal and specific course features of graduate studies, students acquire a higher level of professional competencies in the fields of economics and business economies which gives them the opportunity to work and carry out various activities in private and public companies, government institutions while occupying the following posts according to the National Classification of Professions: high-ranking state  officials  (secretaries, heads of government offices, chiefs of legal entities, heads of governmental entities), high-ranking officials    (heads of chambers and other business associations), managing directors of private or public limited companies, or members  of top or middle management (members or the chairperson of the board of directors, an executive, or a department/sector manager), professional experts (financial, accounting, auditors, tax inspectors, tax consultants, financial analysts, financial consultants, creditworthiness assessors, budget consultants), economists/business experts (in the fields of banking, price policies, tax systems, human resources, international trade, sector policy, consulting), experts in finances, commercial  agents, experts in accounting, book-keeping, bureau of statistics, etc.
