EEBL - Master of Science in European Economy and Business Law (University of Rome Tor Vergata)

Rome , Rome ,Italy

M.Sc. in Astrophysics

From the three-year degree in Physics, or from another scientific-technical degree, unless the basic knowledge is verified.

In recent decades, observational astronomy and astrophysical theories have made enormous strides forward, thanks in part to the rapid technological progress that has led to the development of new-generation telescopes and satellite instruments that allow observations unthinkable until a few years ago. If the new observations give an answer to many questions, however, they give rise to new ones, and the studies of Astrophysics at Tor Vergata allow you to embark on that great adventure of knowledge that is the understanding of the Universe.

Tor Vergata is at the centre of a vast area of research that includes institutes of great prestige and international importance, in particular for astrophysics, such as the Astronomical Observatory of Rome, the Institute of Space Astrophysics and Cosmic Physics, the Institute of Interplanetary Space Physics, the ASDC, the scientific data centre of the Italian Space Agency, the National Frascati Laboratories of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics. The University has very close relations with these institutes, whose researchers contribute to the teaching activity. Students can go there to do internships, specialist and doctoral theses. At Tor Vergata, great attention is paid to the didactic path of the students, who are encouraged to follow the various specialist seminars.

The PhD in Astronomy at Tor Vergata allows PhD students to apply themselves to cutting-edge topics, such as: solar physics and the solar system, star evolution, galaxies and galaxy clusters, active galactic nuclei and quasars, cosmology, gravitational waves. It is also possible to go to other doctorates in Italy and abroad. The doctorate is the entry channel for those who want to enter the world of research at universities, research institutes, astronomical observatories and space agencies. There are also important professional opportunities for the aerospace, optical, electromechanical and computer industries for the development of large astronomical instrumentation and for digital image and data processing centers.
