The BA (Ordinary) in Visual Merchandising and Display will prepare graduates for a career as Visual Merchandisers and Retail Display Designers in the Irish and international retail industry. Merchandising is a key element in any successful retail industry and this new program will have a vital role to play in making sure that there is a steady supply of suitably qualified graduates who can help Irish retail companies develop this aspect of their business.

Visual merchandising is the practice in the retail industry of developing floor plans and three-dimensional displays in order to maximize sales. This program will prepare you for a career as a visual merchandiser and retail display designer in the Irish and international retail industry. Merchandising is a key element in any successful retail industry. This program has a vital role to play in ensuring a steady supply of suitably qualified graduates who can help Irish retail companies develop this aspect of their business. You’ll develop mastery in the theory and strategies of visual merchandising, practical competence in the skills needed for retail display, and an understanding of brand image and consumer behavior – and be able to operate at a high level in the retail industry. Subjects include Visual Merchandising, Graphic Design, Drawing and
Digital Presentation, Business Practice, History of Retail and Fashion Design, Fashion Accessory Production and Fashion Styling, 3D Design and Retail Business Practice.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

If you have completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma, you can apply for all courses in TU Dublin.

Pass Mark: 4 at standard level where OD3 is required. Minimum Entry Requirements/Matriculation Proof of English proficiency is required in all cases. There may also be specific subject requirements for courses.

Level 8 3 Honours Requirement Overall IB Score of 24 which must include 3 Subjects at Grade 5 at Higher Level and 3 Subjects at Grade 4 at Standard Level

2 Honours Requirement Overall IB Score of 24 and Award of Diploma
