Psychology Conversion, MSc

If you are a graduate who has not previously studied psychology but want a course that allows you to train to become a professional psychologist, then this is ideal. The MSc Psychology Conversion programme allows non-psychology graduates a flexible route into further postgraduate training to become a professional psychologist, eg Clinical, Forensic, Health, or Sport. You’ll gain an accredited psychology qualification that confers Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Discover the core areas of psychology, develop key skills and take optional modules to tailor the course to your own interests. The course also includes the opportunity to undertake an individual research project. You’ll be taught in modern facilities in a School that produces nationally and internationally excellent research. Progression is possible within the School onto a number of professional training courses in psychology for those who successfully complete the conversion course.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

55% in bachelor degree

70% in Year 12 English*
Or
70% average grade in Year 11 and Year 12 English provided Year 12 is not below 65%

Standard English language entry requirements – IELTS 6.5 or equivalent

GCSE or O-Level English Grade C - Grade C

A Level English Language - Grade C

TOEFL iBT including Special At Home Edition - 88 (with minimum grades of 21 in each component)

UCLan Test of English Language Level (TELL) - Merit (75%) with no component below pass (65%)

Pearson Test of EnglishAcademic - 61 with minimum of 55 in each component

Entry requirements for this course are an upper second class honours degree (or equivalent). Students who have a lower second class honours degree maybe considered for interview depending on their profile of marks and previous experience.
