Resource Energy and Environmental Management, MSc

The MSc Resource, Energy and Environmental Management is aimed at both new graduates and industry professionals who wish to broaden and deepen their knowledge in wide range of areas. The environment is becoming a global issue and international development is linked to the economics of natural resources including energy demand. Resource management has become critical to the operation of both large and small organisations. The public and private sectors require staff with detailed environmental knowledge at regional, national and international level. Businesses are increasingly looking outside Europe to Asia and the Americas to inform their best practices and maintain market share.

The course is designed as a direct response of growing industry demand and shortage of skilled workforce with this crucial knowledge across a range of disciplines and profession.

In addition to technical specialisation, the MSc course will prepare students for professional careers requiring high levels of judgement, team-working, leadership, initiative, delegation and decision-making responsibilities.

55% in bachelor degree

70% in Year 12 English*
Or
70% average grade in Year 11 and Year 12 English provided Year 12 is not below 65%

Standard English language entry requirements – IELTS 6.5 or equivalent

GCSE or O-Level English Grade C - Grade C

A Level English Language - Grade C

TOEFL iBT including Special At Home Edition - 88 (with minimum grades of 21 in each component)

UCLan Test of English Language Level (TELL) - Merit (75%) with no component below pass (65%)

Specific entry requirements for a MSc in Resource, Energy and Environmental Management degree are:

Entry can be made to the course through holding at least a lower second class award (BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) BA (Hons) in a related subject.

Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications or relevant work / life experience who can demonstrate the ability to cope with and benefit from Master-level studies are welcome.

Students whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate competence in the language. The normal minimum standard required is IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
