BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Our Pharmaceutical Chemistry degree not only offers a firm grounding in general chemistry, research methods and laboratory techniques, but also provides the specialist skills and understanding you’ll need to pursue a future in pharmaceutical chemistry. We’ve developed the course with the pharmaceutical industry in mind – ensuring that our curriculum covers all the skills and strengths that employers demand, and that our placements offer the practical experience on which you can build a career.

You’ll focus on areas like drug testing, drug efficacy, computer-based drug design and the quality control of pharmaceuticals – equipping you for a role in the drug discovery industry.

Our Pharmaceutical Chemistry degree also provides the option of spending an extra year expanding your horizons, working on a placement in industry.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

You must have both:

passed Standard XII with a good grade
and the Higher Secondary School Certificate
You should have the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) at level 6.0, with no scores less than 5.5 in any section. We may accept equivalent qualifications.

We will accept the following XII standard English State Boards with a score of 70% or above as an alternative to IELTS:

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (1080) in Applied Science – DMM, to include relevant chemistry modules.

Pearson BTEC Extended Diploma (QCF) in Applied Science – DMM, to include relevant chemistry modules. 

Pass Access to HE Diploma in Science with a minimum score of 106 UCAS tariff points, to include relevant chemistry units.

Equivalent qualifications and combinations will be considered, including Extended Project (EPQ). AS levels (or qualifications equivalent to AS level) are not accepted.
