Automation and Control with Industrial Project MEng Honours (H661)
This four-year MEng degree in automation and control integrates a year of Master’s-level study and an industrial placement.
Your first three years mirror those of our Automation and Control BEng degree. You study a common curriculum providing core electronic engineering skills, followed by specialist topics such as:
- electromagnetism
- robotics
- linear control theory
You cover control systems, industrial applications and distributed control. You use industry-standard equipment, experimental hardware and are trained in software packages such as MATLAB.
In the fourth year, you complete an industrial placement in the UK or abroad, helping you boost your CV and develop industry contacts.
You complete several design projects to showcase your skills to future employers. For example, developing electrical traction machines for an electric racing car and developing photovoltaic solar power for homes in rural areas.
