The Graduate Certificate in Arts is designed for students with an undergraduate degree who want to continue into postgraduate study and broaden or develop their knowledge in a new area. Choose from papers in a wide range of fields - from interpreting and translation to education, hospitality or tourism.
Courses in the Graduate Certificate in Arts
You choose courses in an area of interest to accumulate 60 points. At least 45 points must be at level 7.

Our North Campus is on Auckland’s North Shore and offers facilities including student accommodation, cafes and our biggest sports centre.

The Employability Lab hosts a number of events like career fairs, expos and presentations where – as potential employees - students and graduates can meet employers. We also run regular career development workshops and recruitment events.

We are connected with many employers who provide the leadership speaker series, industry panels and talks about potential employment with their organisation, including internship and graduate opportunities.
Past presenters include Samsung Electronics NZ, MYOB, Deloitte, BNZ, NZME, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Counties Manukau DHB and AR/VR Garage.
PSW Opportunity
- During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
- After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
- After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- A bachelor’s degree OR
- Relevant professional qualification or experience (at least five years) approved by the Dean (or representative) to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
English language requirements:
Interpreting and Translation
> IELTS (Academic) 7.0 overall with all bands 7.0 or higher; or equivalent
All other areas
> IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher; or equivalent.
