Dance & Choreography BA(Hons)

You’ll benefit from the collaborative environment at AMATA, where you’ll work with students from across the disciplines and have access not just to dance studios, but to all our practice and performance spaces.

You will:

  • Develop your physical and technical skills, and performance capabilities, while engaging with dance history, theories and contexts.
  • Learn to utilise our extensive range of technical sound, lighting and recording equipment, to enable and realise your production ideas and visions.
  • Benefit from AMATA’s year-round performance programme which attracts top artists and performers from all over the world.
  • Build industry links through workshops, guest lectures and visits from celebrated international practitioners such as Company Chameleon, Ballet Lorent, and Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Co.

Freelance dancers, choreographers or community facilitators

Working with established dance companies, theatre, film, opera, TV or music videos

Dance teachers or workshop facilitators 
Our alumni have gone on to secure residencies, commissions and internships with Dance4, Dance Base, South East Dance, Yorkshire Dance, BadCo Zagreb, Dundee Rep,Theatre Bristol and London's Jerwood Space.  

They have toured across the UK and Europe, made work at BIDE in Barcelona, the Edinburgh Fringe and Battersea Arts Centre, performed with Rosemary Lee and C-Scape Dance Company and received commissions from Random Acts Channel 4 and funding from Arts Council England.  

Our graduates are transforming the sector as successful freelance dancers or choreographers, and as company founders and facilitators. 

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Standard Year XII:

  • CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) 60%
  • ISCE (Indian Certificate secondary education) 60%

  • IB Diploma or IB Certificate with minimum 24 points
  • A-levels - typically 104-120 UCAS points
