Ph.D in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering
MAME invites applications for a multi-disciplinary Ph.D. in the field of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering. Industrial engineering is an integrated discipline that includes the study, management, and control of integrated systems of people, machines, and technologies, in order to improve the quality and productivity of the entire system. Industrial engineering includes not only the manufacturing systems themselves, but also the operational research, and human factors (ergonomics: both physical and cognitive). Operational research is involved with developing models, algorithms, and optimization; e.g. inventory control & production planning. Information technology is an integration tool.

If your program was less than 8 months
- You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.
If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.
For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.
If your program was 2 years or more
- We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.
If you completed more than 1 program
- You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.
Each of the programs you completed -
- must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Graduates of recognized universities may apply for admission. In general, admission to graduate study is granted only to those students who have good academic records and who are adequately prepared to undertake graduate work in their field of specialization. In particular, an applicant for admission to a graduate program leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must have either a Master's degree or, in exceptional cases, a four-year Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent; with a minimum average of 77% (or equivalent). Possession of the minimum requirements does not ensure admission.
