B.A. (Hons) - Fashion Design
Our BA (Hons) Fashion Design degree course will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in the fashion industry and have the chance to take part in exciting work placements, with companies such as Ted Baker, Mary Katrantzou, Paul smith, Topshop, and River Island.
You will learn to work with different design systems alongside staff who have valuable industry experience with a range of recognized brands. Each year, a selection of our final-year students showcase their final year work to industry leaders at events such as Graduate Fashion Week and New Designers in London.
What's covered in the course?
The course equips you with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attributes to succeed in a wide range of careers in the fashion industry.
Your first year will introduce you to a number of fashion topics, helping you to develop a good foundation of fashion knowledge and skills, in both design and technical areas.
Your second year helps to strengthen your personal and professional development in relation to your own career goals. You will also have the opportunity to take part in the international Erasmus exchange program, spending a semester at an international institution.
An optional placement year takes place between years 2 and 3, providing an opportunity for an internship in industry.
Your final year gives you the opportunity to specialize in women’s or menswear. You will focus on your own individual area of practice and produce garments that reflect your personal direction as a creative fashion design graduate.
The course blends individual creativity and commercial realism, and you will be able to apply your skills and knowledge of the professional design process, from concept to product.
BA (Hons) Fashion Design, BA (Hons) Costume Design and Practice and BA (Hons) Garment Technology have a shared first year of study.

Our state-of-the-art resources include a gallery, noise and vibration cells, video production laboratory, a robotic laboratory, a huge isolation booth with sonic sound quality big enough to record drum kits, fantastic recording facilities, and a blue screen studio for chromakey work for film and music.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate courses
The majority of our programmes require the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Standard XII) - minimum average of 55% depending on exam board, however some courses may require a higher grade.
Faculty of Art, Design and Media:
Most undergraduate courses in the Art and Design schools require a good portfolio of artwork.
Requires the 12th Standard average of 60% overall. Some courses require Maths with a minimum of 65% from Standard 10 on the Central Board or the CICSE Board, otherwise student require 60% from Standard 12
Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences (BLSS):
Requires the 12th Standard average of 60% with a minimum of 60% in Maths. We also accept Maths at Standard 10 with 65% from Central Board and CICSE Board.
Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE):
Mathematics is required at the 10th Standard minimum of 65% from Central Board and CICSE Board.
BEng Telecommunication and Networks, Mathematics is required at 12th Standard minimum 65%
All engineering courses require the 12th Standard minimum of 65% with 65% in Maths, Physics and Chemistry
