Bachelor of Nutrition

Learn how to make food for people with different dietary needs from registered nutritionists and accredited practising dietitians, who will teach you practical knowledge about the nutrition industry.

You’ll use our specialised teaching kitchen to learn about nutrition and health.

Upon graduation you also have the opportunity to continue your research in specialist areas with an honours year and work towards a Master of Health Promotion or Master of Sports Nutrition by Research.

In this program you will:

  • Cook in our specialised teaching kitchen
  • Learn about food preparation, processing and preservation
  • Gain industry experience in a work placement
  • Specialise in a range of minors designed to help you build specialist expertise, in areas like nutritional science, public health nutrition, health promotion, healthy public policy, sustainability, food science and safety, sport and exercise nutrition, agriculture and aquaculture, Indigenous studies, social media or journalism
  • Choose from a wide range of elective courses to further broaden your knowledge in a complementary discipline

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

In order to graduate you must:

  • Successfully complete 288 units as outlined in the Program Structure
  • Complete no more than 10 introductory level (100 coded) courses

INDIA

  • All India Senior School Certificate – awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with a minimum grade average of 60% or better in the best 4 academic subjects in final year and and overall First Division results; 
    or
  • Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) with a minimum grade average of 60% or better in the best 4 academic subjects in final year and overall First Division results; 
    or
  • State board exams, other than Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) and Haryana State Education Board (HSEB), with a minimum grade average of 65% average across the 4 best academic subjects in the final year and overall First Division results; 
    or
  • Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) and Haryana State Education Board (HSEB) exams, with a minimum grade average of 70% average across the 4 best academic subjects in the final year and overall First Division results; and
  • All applicants must have at least 50% in the theory component (where applicable) of any subject.
