Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Care - Accelerated

Confederation College’s Child and Youth Care (CYC) Accelerated program will give you the skills and knowledge needed to engage with and empower children and youth facing adversity. Foundational CYC perspectives are nurtured through theoretical and practice-oriented approaches, within an Indigenous and northern context of practice. These perspectives include: relational, developmentally responsible and strengths-based practices; trauma and crisis intervention; advocacy skills and community engagement; and social justice and rights-based approached to CYC practice. An understanding of current trends in CYC practice, along with Indigenous approaches to healing and wellness for young people, are also fostered.
