Mechanical Engineering Technician (Ontario College Diploma)

Confederation College’s Mechanical Engineering Technician's two-year program is designed to provide students with a balanced approach to mechanical engineering. The program will give you the knowledge and hands-on experience to meet the requirements of a broad range of trades including Millwright, Machinist and Steam Fitter, as well as the academic requirements of technician-level positions. Courses cover a wide and interesting variety of topics including mechanical practices, mechanical design, welding practices, power transmission, machine shop, statics, the strength of materials and fluid power.

Job Opportunity Potential

Graduates of the program go on to a variety of positions including apprenticeship in millwright, Machinist, steam fitter trades, design drafting, mechanical sales, production operations and hydraulics servicing. 

 

 

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  1. A high school/senior secondary diploma.Original transcripts as well as a notarized, translated copy must be provided where applicable
  2. English Proficiency
    Academic IELTS: overall 6.0, individual band scores minimally 6.0, with one band allowed at 5.5.
