Through appropriate modeling and analysis, Big Data can effectively promote inference, estimation, tracking, learning and decision making. However, Big Data is so huge and complex that it also brings new challenges besides opportunities. Hence, graduates equipped with a solid training in statistical and computing skills will play a key role in solving various statistical problems, especially the Big Data challenges.
