52835WA Certificate IV in University Access Program
52835WA The Certificate IV in University Access Program course is a one semester course designed to prepare international students for university academic studies. Successful completion will provide a pathway to the Diploma of Commerce at Canning College, selected universities, TAFE or the workforce. The qualification will give students the equivalent of a 70 ATAR (Australian Teritary Admissions Rank) which can lead to entry into a selection of courses at Curtin, Edith Cowan or Murdoch university. The Certificate IV UAP will be offered as a commerce or science stream but could allow access to other degree courses subject to successful completion of entry requirements. TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA) is the Registered Training Organisation (RTO 52395) and CRICOS Provider (00020G) for the delivery of training to international students enrolled into a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course in Western Australia. This course is delivered by Canning College on TIWA's behalf however TIWA retains responsibility for the quality of the training and assessment delivered by Canning College and for the issue of certification documentation to students.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- Students are required to have an English standard approximately equal to IELTS 5.5 (no band less than 5.0). Students must also have satisfactory completion of Year 11 studies or equivalent.
