Diploma of Graphic Design
If you want to advance your skills in design software including InDesign and Illustrator then the CUA50715 Diploma of Graphic Design will provide you with the experience to use these specialized programs to design annual reports, corporate identities, packaging, and other press-ready artwork. This course will also provide exposure to web design using WordPress, user interfaces, game graphics using Unity, and the current trend of UX design (User Experience).
You will also learn 3D modeling using Trimble Sketchup to assist in visualizing packaging, signage, and concept art and bring them to life with Octane renderer. The course gives you the opportunity to continue explorations into concept development, creative thinking, online social media advertising, and digital illustration using Corel Painter. This course is very hands-on and practical and is delivered in Mac labs or studios that closely represent an actual work environment.
Several live briefs with external clients are integrated into the delivery, mainly with not-for-profit organisations, to replicate real client experiences. From this exposure, you will gain experience in the business aspect of graphic design such as copyright, intellectual property, invoicing and networking.
