Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology - Electrical

If you want to gain the systems skills for a career in electrical engineering, then enroll in the Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology - Electrical. This two- year course will fulfill your interest in electrical systems and infrastructure and will give you the skills to enter this exciting industry. This course covers a range of capabilities such as electronic design, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, motor control, sustainable practices, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), and low voltage installations.

You will also learn how to diagnose faults and malfunctions in electrical systems and have the knowledge to provide solutions to these problems. Part of this course includes planning and writing specifications and developing your skills in order to manage large electrical projects including associated risks that can arise. When you finish this course, you will have the ability to work in this industry and be responsible for electrical and control support including administering and upgrading infrastructure. South Metropolitan TAFE has developed a unique Prototype facility, which is located at the Munster Campus.

This has been based on an international model to support training in both emerging and current technologies and advanced automated manufacturing. This facility allows the delivery of this course to be simulated towards a manufacturing and production outcome, improving levels of productivity in design and manufacture. The Munster campus also has Computer-Aided Design laboratories which reflect the technology and configuration found in an industrial setting.
