Biomedical Science MSc

On this Biomedical Science MSc, you’ll carry out studies on biomedical science, develop a high level of scientific knowledge and understanding of disease processes and enhance your intellectual development through research projects.

By learning these advanced scientific concepts and improving your understanding of disease processes, you’ll develop an informed and critical appreciation of recent scientific developments in relation to diagnostic laboratory pathology.

Where options are available, we will also help you gain additional specialist knowledge in areas such as ageing, epidemiology and medical genetics.

The research project and dissertation will present you with an opportunity to focus and enhance your intellectual development to a high standard, worthy of the IBMS accreditation.

Our lecturers have an exceptional research profile, particularly in oncology, molecular medicine, immunology and virology. Specialist guest lecturers will add their own enlightenment and passion to this fascinating subject. Overall, this Biomedical Science MSc will provide you with an advanced study of biomedical science that will underpin your professional development and progression.

Next steps was a two day careers event which included a series of webinars led by employers, recruiters and careers consultants. Topics include creating a CV with impact, how to make effective use of recruitment agencies, how to adapt your job search in the current climate and much more. Although this event has now concluded, the webinar recordings can be accessed through the careers portal.

  • Career Mentoring Programmes

The Career Mentoring Programme matches current students with professional mentors. The mentors come from a range of subject disciplines and will have over three years professional experience in their sector. The scheme runs for approximately 5 months and it is expected that mentors and students will have a minimum of five meetings

Care leavers are welcome to use the Careers & Employability Service during their time at London Met and for up to three years after graduation. We are looking forward to working with you!

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • a 2.2 UK undergraduate degree in biomedical science, although applications are welcome from other related subjects and will be considered on an individual basis.
