PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (last 60 credits) from a regionally accredited college or university
- Two years of non-industry-specific professional work experience
- GRE/GMAT scores more than five years old are normally not acceptable. The GRE and the GMAT requirement is waived for any student who has a baccalaureate degree from FAU’s Department of Information Technology and Operations Management (ITOM) with a GPA of at least 3.25 (out of a possible 4.0) in the last 60 credits attempted prior to graduation
- A course-by-course evaluation of international transcripts is required; FAU will evaluate the transcripts or it must be done by a NACES member
- TOEFL 4.5; IELTS 6.0; Duolingo 110
