Honours Bachelor of 3D Animation and Emerging Technologies
Blend art with technology to create opportunity
3D animation is no longer just for entertainment. Today's 3D specialists are finding work in sectors across the economy: automotive, architecture, medicine, urban planning, security and more. By blending traditional artistic principles with cutting-edge techniques, you can develop your love of 3D modelling and animation into a flexible and innovative career filled with variety and opportunity.
Specialized training from leaders across animation and VFX
Stand out from the crowd with a unique credential that demonstrates your mastery of the art and technology used in computer-generated imagery (CGI). You'll be guided by expert professors from Sheridan's Faculty of Animation, Arts & Design — Canada's largest arts school and a global innovator in computer animation education for nearly 50 years.
Theory and hands-on learning
Study fundamentals of computer animation, design and technology, and then sharpen your skills through hands-on projects. By your third year of the program, you'll be ready to take specialized courses in such areas as animation, advanced technology, visualization and machine learning. You'll also gain valuable industry insights and real-world experience through a research capstone and 420-hour internship.
Develop in-demand skills for in-demand roles
The field of computer animation and visual effects sits at the intersection of three key domains that come together to service story and narrative: art and design, technological competence, and computer science. Expertise spanning these three domains is especially valuable in such popular and growing sectors as animation; visual effects; research and visualization; gaming, rides and experiences; and art.
