Bachelor of Fashion Business

The Bachelor of Fashion Business is a future-focused, interdisciplinary course to prepare you for diverse careers in the dynamic and evolving global fashion industry. In this innovative undergraduate program, you will gain the business acumen and industry insight required to navigate and lead in contemporary fashion business environments. Drawing on the combined strengths of the School of Design and the UTS Business School, the course offers you a unique learning experience that integrates core business disciplines such as economics, finance, accounting, marketing, and management underpinned by a deep understanding of fashion as a cultural and social phenomenon.

This course distinguishes itself by embedding sustainability and business ethics through a systems-thinking approach. You will critically engage with the fashion industry’s challenges and opportunities, developing a holistic perspective on responsible fashion business practice. You will study alongside peers in related disciplines, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovation. By the time you graduate, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to drive sustainable and ethical change across various fashion business contexts from brand management and retail strategy to product development and supply chain operations.

This undergraduate course equips students for careers in various facets of business operations in the fashion industry, producing job-ready graduates for highly dynamic, fast-evolving business environments. It addresses global demand for fashion degrees. It is unique by integrating sustainability and the ethics of business through a systems lens of the fashion industry, responding to industry trends in Australia and internationally.

PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.

UTS: Design, Architecture and Building may consider applications based on the results of the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) if students lack academic qualifications but have extensive professional experience.
