The four-year Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management (Honours) (Co-op) degree program prepares you for supervisory and management careers within the dynamic hospitality and tourism industry. The program gives you a solid knowledge of hospitality and tourism business operations, coupled with effective leadership and management skills.

Created by industry experts, this degree program is the first of its kind in Eastern Ontario. Core components of the program include exponential, theoretical and analytical learning in:

  • hotel operations management
  • leadership and entrepreneurship
  • food and beverage management
  • tourism trends

Throughout the program, you are provided with opportunities to develop teamwork, leadership, communication, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Job Opportunity Potential

The Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism program prepares graduates for careers both in North America and globally. Career opportunities may include: working as guest service, food and beverage, front desk managers and supervisors. Graduates may also secure employment as club managers, independent consultants, event planners, restaurant managers and supervisors, working with facility management companies, human resources and working as independent entrepreneurs.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

FOR INDIA
One of the following certificates with a minimum grade of 70 or above in required program subjects:

  • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
  • the India Senior School Certificate
  • the Pre-University Examination Certificate
  • the Intermediate Examination Certificate
  • On-shore: IELTS 6.5, no band lower than 6.0 OR equivalent test OR 1-year minimum of successful studies in Canada

FOR BANGLADESH

  • Higher Secondary Certificate with a minimum grade of 70% in required program subjects or
  • General Certificate of Education (A Level). Require a minimum of five academic subjects with a grade of B
  • GCSE require a minimum of six academic subjects (five if using an English test in lieu of English) with a minimum grade of 6
  • Include transcripts for any post-secondary courses or programs completed

English Proficiency requirements are as follows for consideration:

  1. A minimum TOEFL score of 88 (internet-based with no single test score below 21)
  2. Or an IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.5 (with no single test score below 6.0)
  3. Or CAEL with an overall band score of 70
  4. Or PTE Minimum of 60 (no section score under 53)

FOR SRI LANKA
One of the following:
    1. Sri Lanka General Certificate of Education at Advanced Level Examination Level results or
    2. General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) at Advanced Level (showing at least five subjects passed)
* All of the above must be completed with a minimum B grade or higher in required program subjects
    3. GCSE require a minimum of six academic subjects (five if using an English test in lieu of English) with a minimum grade of 6
