The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority's (ICA) student pass entitles international students to seek part-time jobs and internships in Singapore. We advise international students to familiarise themselves with the ICA's website for current information governing student work privileges in Singapore.
According to the Employment of Foreign Workers Act (Cap 91A, S4) Work Permit (Exemption) (Consolidation) Notification.
>Working during term vacations:
All international students* studying in NUS on ICA's student pass are eligible to work during term vacations without having to apply for work permit.
> Working during academic term time:
International students* are allowed to work not more than 16 hours per week.
*International Students here refers to NUS full-time matriculated students.
Incoming Non-Graduating Exchange (NGE) students intending to do an internship / industrial attachment (IA) in Singapore (regardless of whether they receive remuneration) will have to apply for the appropriate work pass. Such NGE students can apply for the:
- Work Holiday Programme (WHP) or
- Training Employment Pass (TEP)
for the period of their internship depending on whether they meet the respective criteria as per MOM's website.
PSW Opportunity
- The International Students studying in certain institutions in Singapore are allowed to work part time for 16 hours per week as mentioned on the Ministry of Manpower website of Singapore.
- Students who have studied in the institutions mentioned on the Ministry of Manpower website of Singapore are allowed to apply for a Long Term Visitor Pass.
- They are allowed to look for a job during this time period.This is for 12 months.If the students get a job during this time period, the employer may sponsor for an Employment pass.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Applicants in the process of earning a degree and are about to graduate are welcome to apply.
For the single degree NUS MSc in Marketing Analytics and Insights programme:
A good undergraduate degree in any discipline.
For the double degree NUS MSc in Marketing Analytics and Insights + CEMS MIM programme:
A good undergraduate degree in business or a business-related discipline.
English Language Requirement
Good TOEFL or IELTS scores if English is not the mother tongue or medium of prior undergraduate instruction.
The TOEFL score must be at least 100 for the internet-based test.
For IELTS, the overall band score must be at least 6.0.
Although GMAT/GRE is not mandatory, a good GMAT/GRE score will strengthen your application. Candidates with good GMAT/GRE scores will be considered favourably for study awards, and also stand a higher chance in getting their preferred placement in CEMS host schools for the double degree programme. We do not require you to have work experience for admission into the programme. Applicants with some post-graduation work experience are also welcome to apply, though you may also wish to consider applying to our NUS MBA programme instead.
