The Bachelor of Commerce will build your business skills and grow your international business outlook. 

The degree starts with a business core year. Afterward, you’ll study your selected major, plus additional units, to complete your degree structure. 

You’ll benefit from exposure to the industry through field trips, internships, practical assignments, guest lectures, and networking events. You’ll also develop your decision-making and leadership skills, both of which are essential in a future marketplace. 

In your final year, you’ll enhance your employability by undertaking your Capstone Experience. This will provide you with an opportunity to gain practical skills or expand your international knowledge.

Markets and Legal Frameworks

You’ll explore how key business disciplines are connected and understand the relationship between a business enterprise and stakeholders including government, customers, and the broader community.  You’ll also identify the laws and regulations applied to businesses, and learn how business and marketing strategies can impact society and the environment.

Communication Culture and Indigenous Perspectives in Business

You’ll develop an awareness of responsible business practices and cultural, academic, and professional integrity in business. These perspectives will help you in business communications and when making business decisions.

Financial Decision-making

You’ll develop the skills and knowledge needed to make informed and responsible decisions using accounting and financial information. You’ll explore basic accounting and financial terminologies, learn how to interpret financial statements, and make investment decisions.

Strategic Career Design 

You’ll discover the impact of changes in the global labor market and social trends, and how technological innovation will affect career opportunities and the future of work. These changes have implications for individual and organizational career management strategies and personal and professional branding in a digitized global economy.

Analytics for Decision-making

You’ll learn basic data analysis to derive essential information from numerical, textual, and visual datasets. As well as understanding the legal and ethical issues related to the collection and use of data, you’ll examine case study data sets from a range of business disciplines, communicate your findings to an audience and make recommendations based on your analyses.

In close proximity to everything Per­­th has to offer, it boasts 116 hectares of bold architecture nestled amongst beautifully landscaped gardens. Thousands of students fill the campus grounds every day of semester, creating a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere. Over the past decade, the campus has undergone some major changes, with a variety of stunning modern buildings now interspersed with the original 1960s architecture. The majority of Curtin courses are delivered on this campus.

Kalgoorlie

Kalgoorlie is a historic mining town in the Goldfields region of Western Australia about 600 km east of Perth. The town was originally established in 1893 when gold was first discovered there, and today it remains an important centre for the state’s mining industry. Just outside the town is the Super Pit – the second-largest open-pit mine in the country. Curtin Kalgoorlie is located next to the Central Business District, with student housing a short walk away, providing a focused living and campus atmosphere. The Student Guild is a focus of student activity such as the renowned WASM wombats mining team.
