Master of Information Technology
JCU masters students study a series of foundation and core subjects to overlay undergraduate learning and put in place the groundwork upon which to build deep specialist knowledge.
This masters by coursework is designed for graduates from Information Technology and Computer Science, or IT professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge in the field. A JCU Master of Information Technology provides advanced critical analysis skills and comprehensive knowledge of tools and technologies with hands-on application for solving relevant problems to make a difference in the world. For international students, depending on the relevant visa program requirements, this course may be specified on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection ‘skilled occupation’ list. Available for international students, graduates are eligible to undertake the ACS Professional Year Program helping bridge the gap between study and professional employment.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
